How to Track Your Products in Alexa for Shopping (2026)

Amazon still offers no native report of organic Alexa for Shopping visibility. How to track product visibility anyway: four signals, one repeatable monthly audit, and honest tool caveats.

The short answer

As of September 2026, Amazon gives sellers no native report of organic Alexa for Shopping visibility: no dashboard in Seller Central or Vendor Central shows whether the assistant recommends your products. You track product visibility in Alexa for Shopping by combining four signals: Sponsored Prompts reporting (the one lane Amazon does report), a repeatable monthly prompt audit, Brand Analytics downstream data, and, optionally, a third-party tracker whose limits you understand.

Can you track whether Alexa for Shopping recommends your products?

Not directly, and it is worth being clear about that before anyone sells you a dashboard. Amazon renamed Rufus to Alexa for Shopping on May 13, 2026 and moved it into the main search bar, but it still publishes no seller-facing report of organic assistant visibility.

The surface itself is now too big to ignore. On its Q2 2026 earnings call, Amazon disclosed that over 350 million customers used Alexa for Shopping in the twelve months to mid-2026, with active users nearly doubling year over year and interactions up more than 5x.

350M+
customers used Alexa for Shopping, trailing 12 months
5x
growth in interactions, year over year
+48%
conversion lift for shoppers who click a Sponsored Prompt
+21%
higher spend from those same shoppers

All four figures are Amazon’s own disclosures from the Q2 2026 earnings call (August 2026).

So sellers are being recommended, or skipped, hundreds of millions of times with no report that says which. Even at Amazon Accelerate 2026 (September 22 to 24), which gave Seller Assistant persistent memory and always-on workflows, no organic assistant-visibility report was announced. The gap is real, and the honest playbook is to measure around it.

How we got here: the Alexa for Shopping measurement timeline

Amazon built the surface, then the paid reporting. Organic reporting still does not exist.

Nov 11, 2025 Sponsored Prompts free open beta Mar 25, 2026 Prompts billable, CPC reporting arrives May 13, 2026 Rufus becomes Alexa for Shopping Aug 2026 Q2 call: 350M users, +48% prompt lift Sep 2026 Still no organic visibility report

What does Amazon actually report today?

One lane: the paid one. Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaigns are auto-enrolled in Sponsored Prompts, the ad placements inside Alexa for Shopping conversations, and since they became billable on March 25, 2026 they come with real reporting in the ad console.

Inside any campaign, the path is Campaign, then Ad Group, then Ads, then the Prompts tab. Every prompt that has received a click is listed with its text, the ad it served, and its impressions, clicks, and orders. A dedicated Prompts report covers impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, spend, sales, ACOS, ROAS, and 7-day orders.

That reporting is worth mining even if you never raise a bid, because it is the only place Amazon shows you the actual conversational prompts shoppers see around your products. Treat it as free query research for the organic lane nobody reports.

Paid-lane metrics: impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, spend, sales, ACOS, ROAS, 7-day orders, per the ad console’s Prompts report.

Amazon has also shown the paid lane works: shoppers who click a Sponsored Prompt convert 48% more often and spend 21% more than shoppers who do not, per the Q2 2026 call. We saw the high-intent pattern early running a $2,000+ AOV product for a smart irrigation brand, where conversational, spec-heavy discovery preceded a 12.9x peak ROAS.

How do you run a manual Alexa for Shopping visibility audit?

The organic lane needs a homemade instrument: a fixed monthly prompt audit. It is the same discipline as rank tracking before rank trackers existed, and it takes about an hour a month for a focused catalog. The method matters more than the tooling.

StepWhat to doWhat to record
1. Fix the prompt setWrite 10 to 15 prompts the way shoppers talk: category (“best ear warmers for running”), use case, comparison, and gift or occasion phrasings. Freeze the list. The exact prompt wording, versioned. Changing prompts mid-stream breaks the trend line.
2. Standardize conditionsRun them monthly, logged out or on a clean profile, same device and app version, same order, same day of the month.Date, device, app version, logged-in state.
3. Log the answersFor each prompt, note whether your product appears, in what position, which competitors appear, and the exact phrasing the assistant uses about you.Appears yes or no, position, competitors named, quoted phrasing, whether a Sponsored Prompt shows.
4. Score share of voiceShare of voice = prompts where you appear divided by total prompts. Track it as one number per month, per product line. The monthly percentage, plus position-weighted score if you want more resolution.
5. Screenshot everythingAssistant answers change and cannot be re-pulled later. Screenshots are your only receipts. One dated screenshot per prompt, filed by month.
6. Annotate changesMark the dates of listing rewrites, A+ updates, review milestones, and launches on the same sheet, then read visibility deltas 2 to 4 weeks after each.Change date, change type, and the next two monthly readings.

Two honest caveats. Alexa for Shopping personalizes, so a clean profile approximates a new-to-category shopper, not your repeat buyers. And a 10-prompt panel is a sample, not a census: treat month-over-month movement as signal and single readings as noise.

Which Seller Central reports catch Alexa-driven demand?

Amazon will not tell you an assistant answer produced a sale, but the downstream fingerprints show up in reports you already have. Read them as corroboration for what the prompt audit suggests.

Search Query Performance (Brand Analytics) walks the funnel for your top queries: impressions, clicks, cart adds, purchases. Watch for long, question-shaped queries entering your table, and for funnel share shifting on conversational phrasings; that is assistant-era demand arriving through the search bar the assistant now lives in.

Branded search volume is the classic lift signal: shoppers who meet a brand inside an assistant answer often come back and search the brand by name. A winter accessories brand we scaled from zero to top-5 organic on its core winter keywords saw branded queries climb alongside category rank, and the same pattern applies to assistant exposure.

Conversion rate and New-to-Brand rate round it out. The assistant pre-answers objections, so it sends unusually high-intent traffic: rising unit session percentage on optimized ASINs, and a rising New-to-Brand share in ad reporting, are both consistent with growing assistant visibility. None of this is attribution; together it is a usable dashboard.

What is the best tool to track product visibility in Alexa shopping?

A vendor-neutral answer: every current tracker (Goodie, Ranketta, and Azoma by Ecomtent are the names you will meet first) works the same way under the hood. They run their own prompt panels against the assistant at scale, log which brands get mentioned, and chart mentions, positions, and share of voice over time.

That is genuinely useful, and it is also a proxy. No tracker sees Amazon’s query logs, your true impression share, or what personalized shoppers see; a panel approximates a generic shopper the same way your manual audit does, just with more prompts and better trend lines. Treat every “AI rank” as directional, not as ground truth.

When is one worth paying for? A large catalog, a competitive category where answers churn, or a team that needs weekly trend lines. For a brand with under roughly 20 hero ASINs, the manual audit above captures most of the value at zero cost. Start manual, buy tooling when the hour a month becomes the bottleneck.

How do you improve visibility once you can measure it?

Measurement only pays when it changes what you ship. The levers are the ones in our Alexa for Shopping optimization guide: complete structured attributes, use-case-first copy, answered questions, and review sentiment the assistant can trust. Re-run the audit 2 to 4 weeks after each change and let the share-of-voice number referee.

On the paid side, Sponsored Prompts sit inside your existing campaigns, so budget and structure decisions belong with the rest of your ad stack: our 2026 ad formats guide covers where prompts fit, and the Amazon PPC guide keeps every format’s pricing and requirements current monthly. Why organic visibility is worth measuring

60%+ organic at $104,528 a month

An organic iced tea brand we manage reached its first six-figure month in August 2026, month fifteen on Amazon, with 60%+ of sales organic and TACoS near 10%. Organic visibility, in search and now in the assistant, is the compounding asset the ads are meant to build.

If you would rather hand the whole loop to a team that already runs it, that is the job of a full-service Amazon agency: measurement, listings, ads, and creative pulling on the same numbers.

Frequently asked questions

Does Amazon have an Alexa for Shopping analytics report?
Not for organic visibility, as of September 2026. Seller Central and Vendor Central have no dashboard showing whether the assistant recommends your products. The only assistant reporting Amazon provides is for the paid lane: the Prompts tab and Prompts report for Sponsored Prompts, with impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, spend, sales, ACOS, ROAS, and 7-day orders.
How do I know if Alexa for Shopping is recommending my products?
Run a fixed monthly prompt audit: 10 to 15 shopper-phrased prompts, asked under the same logged-out conditions each month, logging whether you appear, your position, competitors named, and the assistant’s phrasing. Score share of voice as prompts-where-you-appear over total, and corroborate with Search Query Performance and branded-search trends.
What tool tracks how products appear in Amazon Alexa shopping recommendations?
Third-party trackers such as Goodie, Ranketta, and Azoma by Ecomtent run large prompt panels against the assistant and chart brand mentions, positions, and share of voice. They are useful for trend lines at scale, but every one is a proxy: none sees Amazon’s query logs or personalized results, so treat their rankings as directional.
Do Sponsored Prompts affect organic Alexa for Shopping recommendations?
Amazon has not published how the paid and organic lanes interact. What it has disclosed is performance: shoppers who click a Sponsored Prompt convert 48% more often and spend 21% more (Q2 2026 earnings call). The safe operating assumption is to measure the lanes separately and let your own numbers decide budget.
How often should I check my Alexa for Shopping visibility?
Monthly, on a fixed day, plus a follow-up read 2 to 4 weeks after any major listing change. Check more often ahead of tentpole events like Prime Big Deal Days, when assistant traffic and competitor activity both spike and answers churn faster than usual.
